This is a song that was inspired by the US election and the prevailing global political landscape. Darkness is the Day was written the morning after the election results came in and it echoes the feelings of many who were shocked by them. This song was released on Inauguration Day and we should all be wide awake now to what lies ahead. Produced by Aimee Bessada, Rebecca Everett and Todor Kobakov in cooperation with the Slaight Music Residency at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto.

Daytrotter Session!

Lindy Vopnfjord (LINDY) will surely bring water to your eyes during all 6 of the tracks on his newly released session. Fans of acoustic folk music will find the Canadian-Icelandic songwriter's session to be just what they're looking for.

STRING FLING!

The Great Hall, 1087 Queen Street West, Toronto

DESCRIPTION Four on the Floor String Quartet Presents:

STRING FLING, TORONTO

Featuring: The Elwins Fast Romantics Grand Analog Hannah Epperson Dominique Fricot Lindy Vopnfjord

String Fling has arrived to Toronto!

String Fling has happened three times annually in Vancouver and was in The Province's Top 10 Concerts Of The Year in 2014. This is the first String Fling in Toronto.

Unlike your typical show, the String Fling concert is an evening where the music is all tied together by strings. Taking their combined years of classical, jazz, folk and other musical training to the test, Four on the Floor is presenting indie music in a new sonic dimension, and there's plenty to look forward to at this year's show! Each artist will perform 2 or 3 songs with Four on the Floor and the quartet will be performing in between each set with original pieces.

The string players performing for String Fling, Toronto will be Michelle Faehrmann (cello), Rachael Cardiello (viola), Kelly Lefaive (violin), Stephanie Chatman (violin) and Kiana Brasset (violin). 19+
